Humaun Kabir

AI Engineer and Researcher

"Hello, World!" I am Humaun Kabir. With 5+ years of diverse experience across R&D, industry, academia and non-profit organisations, I have worked as an AI/NLP engineer and backend developer. I completed my Master of Science in Neural Networks and Neural Computers at Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology with distinction. During my Master's, I worked on neural networks, machine learning and deep learning, with a special focus on natural language processing. I worked under the supervision of Prof. Alexander Kharlamov at the Centre for Information Technologies and Systems (CITaS) and defended my thesis at the same institution. In 2024, as an intern at the Natural Language Learning & Generation Lab, I was supervised by Prof. Dr. Steffen Eger on NLP for science.

I have been on the research path since mid-2022 and have since been working on natural language processing, machine learning, large language models and fine-tuning different pretrained models in multimodal NLP through my workplace, internships and personal projects. I am keenly interested in text generation, text classification, LLMs for multimodal NLP, NLP for social good and NLP applied to science.

I have hands-on experience in Python, Golang, Next.js, TypeScript, C/C++, FastAPI, Flask, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, pgvector, CI/CD, Docker, Airflow, n8n, ETL, Git, Sentry, Vercel, PyTorch, neural networks, scikit-learn, NLTK, Transformers, HuggingFace, open-source LLMs, Ollama, vLLM, Quantization, PEFT, SFT, Unsloth, RAG, Vector Database, Pinecone, Qdrant, Agentic Memory, Prompt Engineering, Agents, LLM evaluation, Langfuse, Arize Phoenix, AutoGen, LangChain, GCP, AWS, Azure and Azure AI.

I am working on natural language processing, large language models and agents for various applications. Previously, I worked as a backend developer, co-led projects aimed at contributing to specific SDGs, and introduced school kids and university girls in Bangladesh to ICT since 2016. I have been awarded several international fellowships related to youth, technology and development, through which I gained invaluable experience. Please feel free to reach out via email with any questions, or find me on X at @ihumaunkabir. Thank you!
